Fairy Well

Fairies have many connections to water, including wells. A well near Kingussie often had gifts left for the fairies in exchange for a wish. If the fairies approved of the gift they would grant the wish. But one time someone threw in a broken button, which made the fairies mad, and so his wish was reversed and he suffered the consequences.
