The River Dee

The River Dee has many names: River Deva, Water of Dee, Uisge Dhe and Goddess River.
The Dee was possibly named after the River Goddess or deity De.

A man was drowned in the River Dee, but when his plaid was offered to the river, the next day the river returned the man's dead body so it could be buried.
