Art, lore, and historic crafts are my passion. Landscape, plants, people, skills, stories and even music are all a deep rooted elements to where we live or grow up. These are what I want to capture in my own artwork. During my studies I came across the term intangible heritage meaning the excavation of history, often cultural, not consisting of physical objects. Instead of digging up sherds of pottery, I was digging up stories passed down from person to person. Intangible heristage can be old wives tales, songs and pieces of music, and the names of places, along with much much more. Scotland is full of both tangible and intangible heritage. My work explores these themes, combining my local landscape with the social and cultural history located within.
